MISSION: We are a family and conservation oriented striped bass fishing club dedicated to ensuring the future of the striped bass and hybrid striped bass fishery in South Carolina and Georgia. We have a specific concern for the Lake Hartwell, Lake Lanier, Lake Russel, Clark's Hill Lake and Lake Oconee striped bass hybrid striped bass fisheries simply because of their proximity .
Meetings: Our club meets once a month on the 1st Monday of the Month. Our meetings are approximately 1.5 hours long and include instructional and informational demonstrations and presentations about the how's and what for's of striped bass fishing. Visitors are always welcome and encouraged to attend!
Conservation: We believe in the philosophy promoted and referred to by the Striped Bass Conservation Coalition (SBCC) as Responsible Catch and Release. That is, releaseing fish when the probability of survival is high and keeping fish when the probibility of survival is low.
Tournaments: In the past all or our tournaments have been held on Lake Hartwell on the 1st Saturday after our Club Meeeting. Currently, per member requests, our May 2008 tournament will be on Clark's Hill Lake on the last Saturday in May in conjunction with the Striped Bass Conservation Coalition. Our members and quests are not REQUIRED to keep their fish alive in our tournaments. However, conservation message is supported by our ACTIVE promotion of catch and release (C&R) striped bass as something worthy of special recognition. Therefore, our tournaments recognize those members that take the extra effort to ensure the healthy condition of striped bass and wiegh them in alive at our tournaments and then release them for posterity.
